The ProLiant DL380G2 comes standard with one 400W Hot Plug Power Supply. It autodetects 110VAC and 220VAC input source. The ProLiant DL380G2 also supports an optional redundant power supply in a 1+1 configuration. Specifically, it requires one power supply to operate and a second one to be redundant. The power supply is not intelligent so no I2C interface is needed. The power supply converter board provides all the information necessary to determine the status of the power supply.

    Beskrivelse

400W Redundant Hot Plug Power Supplies

The ProLiant DL380G2 comes standard with one 400W Hot Plug Power Supply. It autodetects 110VAC and 220VAC input source. The ProLiant DL380G2 also supports an optional redundant power supply in a 1+1 configuration. Specifically, it requires one power supply to operate and a second one to be redundant. The power supply is not intelligent so no I2C interface is needed. The power supply converter board provides all the information necessary to determine the status of the power supply.

When a status change occurs (when a power supply is installed or removed, power supply fan is installed or removed, power supply failed, or power supply hot-pluggable fan [power supply zone] failed), the change is registered by the general purpose input chain. In a non-redundant configuration, the system will shut down if the power supply or internal power supply fan fails. Although only one power supply is necessary to operate the server, if two power supplies are installed, both power supplies send power (active load balancing) to the power supply backplane. If one power supply fails, the other will continue to keep the server operational.

For redundant power supply operation, there must be a power supply installed in Bay #1 (far right) as illustrated below
