“At EET Group we are looking carefully at our environmental footprint and are determined to reduce the impact of our activities on the climate. As a distributor, the by far largest source of emissions is our outbound transportation. With this initiative we are going beyond making our shipments climate neutral. By committing to plant a tree for every five shipments, we are making this part of our business climate positive, meaning that we compensate more CO2 than we emit. It is not only the right thing to do, but it also makes good sense businesswise
Søren Drewsen, EET Group CEO
We have teamed up with Ecologi, a company that is specialised in delivering climate action solutions with the mission to remove 50% of global CO2 emissions by 2040 and responsibly plant billions of trees every year. Partnering with Ecologi, we have already planted more than 50,000 trees in Madagascar, Mozambique and Nicaragua. A substantial part of our business is to provide spare parts for electronic devices, thereby extending the lifespan of the devices and thus reducing electronic waste.
“We see a growing trend among customers and end-users to maintain and update electronic devices, and thereby contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to the rapid growth in use of electronic devices. Similarly, we are convinced that climate positive shipments and other efforts to reduce and compensate our climate footprint actually makes a difference to the customers,” said Søren Drewsen.
